Bye for now.

September 10th, 2008

As of September 2008, Girls with Big Cameras is going on hiatus and is no longer accepting appointments.  Thank you to all of our wonderful fans.

The Girls would like to thank all of our friends, family and customers for their overwhelmingly positive support over the past year.  It’s been a joy and privilege to serve the community.  It has also been an amazing opportunity for the three of us to grow as artists, photographers, and business people.

Our email, withbigcameras@gmail.com will remain open for questions, comments and referrals or if you’d like to contact one of the girls.  Again, thank you for supporting our venture!

Rachel and Chu’s E-Session

July 28th, 2008

Session Date: July 11, 2008
Location: Georgetown, DC
Photographer: Claire

It was finally time to shoot my bestest friend Rachel’s engagement session. As her maid of honor, I tagged along mainly for moral support, but I was able to take a few pics while carrying the lights for her photographer, Hyon Smith. As a person who witnessed how their love has transformed over the years, I am SO HAPPY for them. I just need to figure out ways to translate my love for them in words for the MOH speech in Nov!!!!!!!! YIKES.

The lovely couple.

Tara and Andrew’s E-Session

July 28th, 2008

Session Date: July 14, 2008
Location: Alexandria, Va
Photographer: Claire

Due to schedule conflicts, I asked Jennifer again to help out with Tara and Andrew’s E-session. (Thanks to Jennifer again for coming out!) We met Tara and Andrew on a very hot and humid day in Old Town Alexandria. It was more meaningful for this couple to have the session there because Andrew actually grew up right in the neighborhood. SUCH a cute couple!

Some pictures from the session!

Grace and Ted’s Wedding!

June 15th, 2008

Grace and Ted finally tied the knot! It was SUCH a beautiful wedding. Grace had to wake up at the crack of dawn, but she kept her cool-ness throughout the day.  As one of her bridesmaids, I was able to stay close to Grace and felt truly blessed that I could be a part of her special day!I wish I was good with words to describe what an awesome day it was, but since I am a bit challenged, I will post some pics that I took from the wedding :D Grace and Ted's WeddingGrace and Ted's WeddingGrace and Ted's WeddingGrace and Ted's Wedding

Liz and Rhett’s E-Session!

June 3rd, 2008

Wow, I guess it has been awhile since I posted on withbigcameras blog! (I had trouble remembering the log-in address.)

After canceling numerous sessions due to rain, I was a little bit anxious to meet with Liz and Rhett @ Old Town Alexandria, Va. Because Grace and L2 were busy this past weekend, I asked one of my other photographer friend Jennifer to help out with this one. Although it was a bit muggy on Sunday, Liz and Rhett (AND Steel) were wonderful to photograph! I had a lot of fun and I really hope they enjoyed it as well.

Here are some of my favorites..

Pam & Doug

March 6th, 2008

It was a beautttiful day when we had our session with Pam and Doug. At first, Gracer and I were having some issues with posing Pam and Doug. It seemed like our “how to pose” brain just disappeared! Despite our “problem” and the Sun glaring at their faces, Pam and Doug were nice enough smile through the whole session. Towards the end, they were like professionals! :) Thanks, guys!

Here are some pictures from the session:

Lisa and Rick’s Engagement Session

January 20th, 2008

Due to some schedule conflicts, we had to move Lisa and Rick’s engagement session from Sunday to Saturday. (Good thing we moved it… It was SO COLD today!) Lisa and Rick were one of our lucky winners(?) when we posted an ad on weddingbee for free engagement/portrait sessions. They were very kind to let us experiment with different poses and creative angles. I have to say some of them did not turn out as I had imagined them in my head, but overall, I think it was a very fun/successful session. Despite the cloudy weather, we were able to grab some amazing shots thanks to the awesome location that Lisa had picked. (Grace totally fell in love with the C&O canal. )

Leesburg, Va

January 14th, 2008

Grace and I decided head up to Leesburg to take some pictures and maybe shop. Although we never made it to the outlet mall, we had a blast taking pictures of each other. I realized it is so difficult to be on the other side of the camera!! It was so awkward and we didn’t know where to look. I think towards the end, we both felt a little bit more comfortable. :D

i am a canon owner!

Grace says I accidentally erased one of her dimples. lol oopsy. I think she looks good!

trying new poses

I wanted to try this pose and finally got a chance to try it with gracers. I saw portraits where the photographer was shooting from the top and wanted to try it. Since I didn’t know exactly how it worked, I first told grace to ’squat’ and she looked at me like I was crazy. After some trial and error, we finally got it right.

Please check my flickr site for more of gracer’s fabulous pictures.;)
